For the next few days, let me take you on a virtual
journey to Asia Minor where we will visit the places that we read about in the
book of Revelation chapters 2 and 3. I shall share photos of the journal of my visit - this means there are photos of oldphotos so perhaps not as sharp as today's digital pictures.
Today we visit Ephesus.
The ancient site of Ephesus is quite amazing. Although most of the buildings are ruins it
is still possible to see what a rich city it must have been in Roman
times. The site is crowded with tourists
but you can still see the Christian symbols carved into the paving slabs. It is easy to see how the Ephesians had lost
their first love as you look at the ornately decorated columns and friezes, at
the stunning library and theatre, and the large public toilets having ‘centrally
heated’ marble seats!
When you visit the site today you see the remains
of the 3rd city to built there, the previous cities being built on
the foothills either side. The Apostle Paul
stayed in Ephesus for 2 years on his third missionary journey.
In the State Agora (marketplace) no ordinary items
were sold, only silver, silk and gold.

If you are a believer, think about your journey
since you became a believer. How do you
feel your relationship with God has grown since you first believed?
Technique
Challenge
Try stamping with an embossing
folder. If you don’t have one then stamp
using whatever you have.
Or do a wax crayon or pencil rubbing over the
embossing folder and stick into your book.
If you don’t have an embossing folder use something else that has a
raised texture.
